Digital X-Rays

In our office, we use the most advanced dental equipment and techniques possible. From our intra-oral cameras that can visually show you what some of your cavities look like to digital x-rays, it is important for us to have the most up-to-date tools to help us correctly diagnosis and confer this information to our patients. We feel that it is paramount for our patients to fully understand how their teeth and gums are being affected and to make informed decisions on how to proceed in getting back to health. Digital x-rays are extremely safe and add no greater exposure to radiation than spending a few minutes in the sun. With the help of a digital sensor as well as a focused x-ray tube and a lead apron/collar, the least amount of radiation is being delivered to the patient as possible.

They are so safe that even women who are pregnant can have them taken without worry. For our patients who have trouble with sensors in the mouth, we also offer a convenient panoramic x-ray machine that can take x-rays without having to place anything in the mouth. A quick, simple whirl 180 degrees outside and across the patient’s face will help deliver a useful image as well. While most x-rays help us to show a patient decay or other situations that might occur in the mouth, there are some areas of the tooth that are difficult to visualize on an x-ray. For those certain situations, we offer a high resolution, color intra-oral camera which displays photos and live video on a 22” television to better help our patients visualize things.
